To replace your existing Verizon Wireless number with a phone number from another provider go to the Change Mobile Number page in My Verizon and follow the prompts to transfer an existing number.

No, your number must remain active. Make sure you don’t have any pending orders before you transfer your number. Once your number is successfully transferred to Verizon Wireless your old provider's account will disconnect automatically.
