Tips for transferring your wireless number to AT&T

Before you transfer your number, know these important tips:

Don't cancel your existing service. We'll take care of that when you activate your new phone.
Contact your service provider so you know what charges may apply. You'll need to pay any outstanding balances. You may also have to pay an early termination fee.
Although we don't charge a number transfer fee, we may charge an activation fee for each new line of service. We may also charge a number change fee if you replace your existing AT&T number with a number you transfer to us.

Information needed to begin the transfer process

If the number is eligible to transfer, you’ll need to provide information about your current account to begin the transfer process. Any wrong information may delay the processing.

View a recent monthly phone bill or call your current service provider, to verify the following information:

Phone number you want to transfer
Account holder's name
Billing address for the account
Account holder's Social Security number or Tax ID
The nine to eighteen-digit billing account number
PIN or password, if applicable

Number transfer timeframes

When transferring your number from another wireless carrier:

If you order your new phone or SIM card online or over the phone, your number transfer may take up to 3-5 business days to complete. Your old phone will still work until you activate your new AT&T phone or SIM card.
If you're transferring a non-wireless number, it'll take a minimum of 5-7 business days to complete.

Find the computer-generated notice that was issued by the IRS when you applied for your EIN. This notice is issued as a confirmation of your application for, and receipt of an EIN.
If you used your EIN to open a bank account, or apply for any type of state or local license, you should contact the bank or agency to secure your EIN.
Find a previously filed tax return for your existing entity (if you have filed a return) for which you have your lost or misplaced EIN. Your previously filed return should be notated with your EIN.

Fox News anchor Bret Baier has seen his 6 p.m. show — Special Report — named the top rated show in cable news on a near daily basis this week. It’s a rare occurrence for a show outside prime time, and Baier can thank President Donald Trump’s daily briefings with the coronavirus task force for the audience surge.

Another promising trend for CNN came with the network’s prime time ratings. CNN thankfully gave Chris Cuomo, who is battling coronavirus, something of a night off, replacing his hourlong show with a coronavirus town hall hosted by Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Cuomo did beam in to give CNN’s audience a informative first person account of how he’s fighting against the sickness.
